SeaWorld Orca

An Orca (killer whale) at SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida killed an experienced trainer yesterday. I have seen the Orca display at SeaWorld in San Diego, and I was brought to tears by the magnificence of these whales. SeaWorld provides a great entertainment experience.

This is not much different than a caged-up bear or tiger getting frustrated and suddenly killing one of its trainers. These are large, magnificent, wild animals - carnivores. They are not on display for the purposes of scientific research. These are shows for the tourists, put on for the purpose of generating profits. Greed and the profit motive over any sort of concern for these glorious animals.

It is a real tragedy that this lady had to die. This mistreatment and exploitation of wild animals needs to cease.

It is the only civilized way to deal with this.
