What a Beautiful Old Tank

I took my Vespa this afternoon to go to the pharmacy and pick up my calcium channel blockers.
-
On the way back I took a not so short short-cut through Germany.

I saw this beautiful tank.

I guess it is a water tank. My guess is early 1900's.

Brussels Belgium Mineral Show

-

-

This weekend September 2 - 3, 2006 there is going to be a mineral show at Autoworld in Brussels.

For some reason the Belgians seem to be much more active in this field than many other countries.

Diana Spencer

-

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the death of the Princess of Wales.

She and her boy friend Dody were killed in a car wreck in Paris August 31, 1997.
-
-
I've been to the location in Paris several times.
-
-
-
Gosh that was nine years ago.
-
-
-
-
-
Sure doesn't seem that long ago to me.

Donald Rumsfeld

-

Much of my life I have been on the wrong side of what is "politically correct." Usually I have been perceived as being left wing, or as a tree hugger.

I was anti-war back when the majority of Americans thought we were doing a good thing fighting the commies in Vietnam. So I am used to being counter-intuitive and going against the grain when I must.

I think Rummie is smart. And right, most of the time.

And generally he is sort of charming and funny too. This is a link to a good article about him in the Seattle Times: http://tinyurl.com/l6b5w

This is a fine picture of him and Dolly Parton.
-

If you ever get the chance listen to her version of "Stairway To Heaven" please do so. I think it is the best yet - and I usually detest country music!

Some Pictures of Me

The picture on the right is a couple of years old. It is of me and Mike Moore.

Not Michael Moore the film producer and jerk, rather the X Prime Minister of New Zealand and head of the WTO.

The one on the left is a little more recent , I guess about a year and a half old. It was in a shop very near to the Cavern club. It was taken for me by some Japanese tourists who were also visiting in Liverpool. I had just finished taking their picture with their camera, so they returned the favor..

The picture on the right is about 6 months ago, and is of me standing next to my Toyota Prius. The reason I have a suit on is because I have just returned from a funeral.

This lady is one the top High Priestesses in Western Africa. When Pope John Paul went to Africa she was one of four religious leaders who met with him. In this picture she was doing some kind of religious mumbo jumbo trying to help with my leukemia.

And this black and white photo is me as a young boy with my Dad. Probably late in the 1950's.
