Vanity Fair is not a magazine that I have read much in the past. But I may need to change that. The August 2009 issue has an excellent article on the Republican Party’s sex symbol, the former beauty queen turned politician, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.
As the running mate for John McCain she was both a help in drawing crowds and a strong 
hindrance due to her ignorance and refusal to follow instructions. In a recent poll she was found to be the most powerful woman in the Republican Party.
In this article some of the former aides to Senator John McCain describe “the meltdown of his vice-presidential pick, the author tracks the signs—political and personal—that Palin was big trouble, and checks the forecast for her future.” This article is worth taking to time to read.
