We Haven’t Yet Tried Non-Violent Resistance

Joe Stack, the computer software engineer who flew his Piper Cherokee into the Austin, Texas IRS building was brilliant. And a bit crazy too. In his delusion he had come to the conclusion that violence was the only answer.

I don’t think we are any where near that point. Just look around; 99% of the people you see are almost completely apathetic. Long before violence might become wise, these people need to be awakened. If we can’t succeed in making them care about their fellow man and basic human dignity, neither non-violence or violence will help one bit.

Sometimes you have to use violence. Hitler could not be stopped by non-violent protests.

Appropriately employed non-violent resistance is still a very powerful force. It can move mountains. We need to go that route first.
