Toyota's Rebirth

All the recent bad press Toyota has been getting may well end up being the best thing that has happened to them in many years.

Toyota had been getting fat, lazy, and complacent. They were growing addicted to selling terrible fuel economy V8 pickup trucks and morbidly obese SUVs. Even though they still make the highest fuel economy and most reliable cars of any car company on the planet, this incident will almost certainly result in a sort of rebirth. Looking into my crystal ball I see even greater things for Toyota.

The difference between Toyota and General Motors is that the Japanese have learned and they have taken to heart the importance of actually listening to their customers. Honest self analysis. GM didn't listen to their customers, and they sure didn't admit to their own shortcomings; they just brought in more highly paid Madison Avenue advertising liars.
