Since 1776 the United States of America has accumulated a national debt of $9 trillion.

Over half of that was incurrred when George Bush was president (Bush I & II). If you throw in Ronald Rayguns over 70% of the national debt was borrowed during just three Republican administrations.

So the idea that Rebublicans are somehow fiscally responsible, and that Democrats tax and spend irresponsibly is completely wrong. The Republicans borrow and spend irresponsibly. They spend the money with the fellow Republican businessmen. Democrats try to spend the country's money to help the citizens to improve themselves - schools, health care, etc.
