Hurricane Henriette

Being out in the middle of the continent, dangerous storms are quite rare. Maybe every 10 or 15 years a tornado is sighted, but damage is almost unheard of.

El Paso, Texas is so far inland that almost all tropical storms peter out well before they get here to the northern section of the Chihuahua desert. But it might be possible that late this week hurricane Heriette might result in a little rain here and up in Hatch, New Mexico where they still are furiously harvesting green chile.
