Immigration Reform

Immigration Reform is one of those phrases used by politicians that sound good but are basically meaningless.

Comprehensive immigration reform can mean almost anything, clear from a xenophobic point of view where foreigners are not permitted to enter America and we deport all non-citizens to the other end of the spectrum where all undocumented aliens are granted full amnesty and rapid citizenship.

During a deep and hard recession one would not normally expect to see elected politicians supporting any “reform” which helps foreigners and might be seen as taking jobs away from or in any way harming native born Americans.
