Several years ago I visited the Museo del Prado Museum in Madrid, Spain. It has about 1,300 paintings on display, making it one of the world’s top art museums. The Prado has the world's finest collection of Spanish painting, with large numbers of the finest works of Diego Velázquez and Francisco Goya.
While not as big or magnificent as the Louvre in Paris, it still is REALLY nice. In fact it is a little more manageable than the Louvre. I have been to the Louvre at least seven or eight times, and I still have only seen a very small part of what is there.
Now thanks to the magic of Google Earth you can see extremely high resolution pictures of some of the paintings in the Prado. I have one of the top digital cameras that Nikon makes, and these pictures in Google Earth are way beyond more than 1,000 times higher resolution.
Go to Google Earth. Fly to coordinates 40.413713,-3.692593 ---- Then enter the museum and be prepared to be blown away.
