This year the Dakar Rally was moved from North Africa to South America because of all the problems there with the Muslim religious fanatics and the general lawlessness in Africa.

The race is roughly 10,000 kilometers (6,000 miles) long. It is considered to be the primo endurance race in off-road conditions in the entire world.
