Open Pit Copper Mine near Hillsboron, N.M.

I went on an El Paso Mineral and Gem Society field trip today up to the closed open pit copper mine east of Hillsboro, N.M.

This is such a nice group of people. The company was great and there were lots of neat rocks.

Afterwards I took my archaeologist friend over to see the petroglyphs nearby, and then I lead the group to see the fluorescent stones at from the tailing pile at the Petroglyph Mine.

My goodness it is beautiful there.
