Steve Irwin
Another Steve is gone. First Crosno, now Steve Irwin. There seems to be a bit of a run on boadcasters named Steve.

The infectiously enthusiastic Aussie, passionate conservationist, and wildlife warrior Steve Irwin is dead at age 44. He ran the Australia Zoo and was sometimes called the Crocodile Hunter.

That is almost exactly the same age that Mike Garland was when he died. Too young, thats for sure.

While filming an underwater documentary on Australia's Great Barrier Reef in the Northeast off of Port Douglas at Batt reef whre he was snorkeling on the surface. He was struck in the chest by a sting ray barb. It penetrated his chest, and he pulled it out. But he died at the scene.

He is a good example of someone dying young but leaving behind a great legacy. What made this guy special? Enthusiasm, passion and something people may not think about at first - he was always polite. -

He accomplished more than most people would in several lifetimes. Its funny how with some of these celebrities you sort of feel like in a way that you know them; and that in a way they are your friends.
