Montmartre Rue Foyatier Paris
This morning I couldn't remember Brassai's name.
Hunting around on the internet I came across lots of things about Ansel Adams and John Muir.
Then I found some references to Brassai. He was not a French photographer, he was a Hungarian photographer living in Paris. Duh. Uh, I knew that.
On several different trips to Paris I tried to re-create Brassai's famous black and white picture looking down the long steps on Rue Foyatier, which is called "The Stairs."

On the Butte, just below the sacred heart church. -
